2009 Daniel & Marta Gantenbein Chardonnay
RINGER
In a 13 bottles blind tasting of Meursault Genevrieres, our friend said he had to make the tasting more challenging by having a ringer bottle to throw us off. Certainly very successful plan, many attendees didn't expect a Swiss Chardonnay to be the ringer! I was suspicious.
Nose of butter, palate too, uh oh, I became suspicious coz Genevrieres was not butter driven. Ultra generous with the fruits, very rich palate. Heard they use the same oak barrel that DRC used for their Montrachet!
