2009 Esporao Reserva Tinto
AGE WORTHY? I have to admit that I don't have a lot of experience with Portugal wines except for their legendary ports, thus I'm trying to learn as much as I can.
This was a big wine by any standard; nose of wood or oak infused fruits. Body was big, bold and gamey, loads of dark fruits, primarily prunes and plums. It tasted quite balanced although I noticed the tannins are starting to integrate with the wind already, thus I wonder if this wine can age 2 3 decades like Bordeaux, or made to drink early?
