2009 Gantenbein Chardonnay
It was served in a blind tasting as a ringer in a flight of Puligny Montrachet's Combettes. I was completely caught off guard.
It possessed a huge nose, smokey and with some matchsticks character, and I was jumping to conclusion: probably a Leflaive.
A sip and I found that it was a monster wine, huge monster. Great concentration, Was slightly bitter and acidic. Totally exuberant style of wine, superb effort from a Swiss winemaker totally under represented in Asia.
