2009 Hugel Gewurztraminer Alsace
HUGEL #3
I saved the best for last. Amongst all the big name Alsace winemakers I have tasted today, I think Familie Hugel produced the best average Alsace wine, thus I'm impressed with Hugel.
While this Gewurtztraminer wasn't as good as the 2012 I just reported (was it the vintage in play here?), it still possessed a very balanced nose.
Palate was of high acidity, slightly off balance on the tongue, not as complex or intense as the 2012, but still a great pedigree. Kudos to Hugel's effort.
