2010 Chateau Clinet Pomerol
STYLE CHANGED
Clinet only raised to fame after the 100 pointer 1989, but I drank many vintages of this to formulate an idea. Certainly in the past they are very classic Pomerol style, but this 2010 shocked me.
Started off nose of clinical, medicinal, pharmaceutical and inky, very un Pomerol.
Surprisingly drinkable, very rounded, creamy, sweetness was on the back palate and not tongue tip. The style was entirely modern, not a hint of classic Bordeaux. Changed a consultant like Michel Rolland?
