2010 Domaines Schlumberger Gewurztraminer Alsace Grand Cru Kitterle
SHOCKED
Shock 1: It was extremely strong pineapple nose as if I was in an island of nothing else besides pineapples.
Shock 2: I wasn't prepared for the content, a sip and I was shocked at the sweetness, this wine was not like any Gewurstraminer I ever had before! The sweetness was at the kind of level similar to a Sauternes. However, it was balanced off with thickness and lushness.
So my warning: Don't drink this as an aperitif but treat it as a dessert wine instead! Only buy Alsace if you know it!
