2010 Terra di Monteverro Toscana
This was the first blinded Italian wine for the night, and sad to say it was a disappointing start. In order for a wine to be excellent, there are a lot of factors that you need to pay attention to. Aroma is only but a part of it.
It started out good with nose of blackberry, plum, smoke and vanilla. But once I tasted the wine, it felt like sandpaper was dragging itself all over my mouth. Palate was super tannic, high acidity and alcohol. Hard to enjoy!
