2011 Curatolo Arini Coralto Nero dAvola
BEGGAR OF SICILY
This grape from Sicily is often compared to Malbec due to its dark character on sight, nose and taste. Sicily was known for producing dirt cheap table wine, but recently made progress in the quality department.
Aromas of blackberry, black currant, with some spices and earthy component and slightly dusty on the nose as well. Palate had juicy fruits, with acidity and tannin being well rounded. But the wine didn’t last too long as the fruits became diluted after a while. Still an easy drink!
