2011 Francois l’Orban Vintage Brut
VINTAGED CHAMPAGNE
Having a vintage for the champagne wasn’t always a good thing, the NV of this producer did a much better job with their generic champagne than this 2011.
20% Pinot Meunier, 80% Chardonnay. Very dry to start off with. Totally different style from the last reported NV champagne from the same house. Although the fruits slowly surfaced, it was predominantly lemon taste, another disappointment. Claimed to be fermented in stainless steel vats, strangely I smelled burnt wood, puzzled.
