2011 Henri Boillot Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de La Mouchere Monopole
PERRIERES FLIGHT 4/4
Our objective here in the blind tasting is to find out the gem of this region and whether it was universally agreed on the producer label. Les Perrieres was a large and quality plot in Puligny Montrachet, thus a worth while exploration.
Obviously Clos de la Mouchere, a Monopole plot within Perrieres highly deserved the #1 position in this battle. It's certainly much more disciplined, didn't show it's charm till 30mins later. I was aptly fooled initially, but did notice the evolution.

DECENT QUALITY
Another vintage of Clos de la Mouchere that I tried, Burghound rated it 94, I kinda agree. I prefer this vintage over the 2010 and 2008, good acidity as well as good balance, no big fruits, but was made in a classic method, ready to drink wine. 2011 was quite similar in style as compared to 2008. After a vertical tasting of Boillot's Clos de la Mouchere, this was the sequence of the vintages in terms of my preference: 09, 04, 86, 11, 08, 10. Acidity or fruits? I prefer fruits.
