2011 Paul Pillot Chassagne Montrachet La Romanee 1er Cru
HUMBLED 3/3
In a flight of three bottles of blind tasting of white burgundies amongst Chassagne, Meursault and Puligny Montrachet, the objective was to put them in respective appellation. I thought I knew all of them fairly well but was truly humbled.
I have no bad description for this wine! Soft and creamy, superb balance, great fruits, expansive, really impressive stuff. I was swearing this would be a Grand Cru from Puligny, just to find that I've never heard of this maker before and a Chassagne!
