2011 Uggiano Chianti Riserva
SOUR WINE
This Chianti is labelled as a Riserva, which means that this wine has been aged longer with a min of at least 2 years in oak and 3 months in the bottle. I was expecting better quality but unfortunately, it didn’t impress.
The distinct nose of sour cherries from Chianti wines was prevalent, with a little bit of spice from the oak. Palate was similar with loads of red cherries at the start and the typical high acidity. But after a while, the fruits disappeared and left the wine with only sourness.
