2012 Chateau du Hâ Haut Medoc
WRONG TURN
I tasted this wine blind and was surprised as the nose led me to Merlot but the palate was screaming Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine had a strong coffee nose with plum surfacing. But once it hit my palate, it was very tannic, which led me to believe it a young wine with higher % of Cabernet Sauvignon.
But to my surprise it was a Merlot dominated left bank. After around 30 mins in the glass, it became diluted. In wine, there never seems to be a lack of surprises and learning.
