2012 Chateau Mazeris Bellevue Canon Fronsac

When this wine was revealed, I had no knowledge of Canon Fronsac or what style of wine they produce. The nose gave me starch paper, the first time I've ever used this description, as well as dry wood, violets and a hint of smoky factor. The palate on the other hand was well rounded that I deduced this as a Merlot dominant wine. But it did leave a bitter after taste that I could do without.
The wine was still holding up for more than 45 minutes in the glass, thus the higher rating.
