2012 Chateau Tour du Pas Saint Georges Saint Georges Saint Emilion
ST EMILION CHARACTER
St Emilion produced wines primarily of Merlot or Cabernet Franc, rarely it used Cabernet Sauvignon. As such, a way to detect St Emilion wines is actually the nose and the palate. If it's sweet, certainly has high Merlot in it, if you smell capsicum, certainly means Cabernet Franc.
This wine was served blind, and I can nail it as St Emilion. Light fruity nose with red berries (merlot based). Palate was bright red fruits, young, chewy, sweet and very overpowering. Not bad!
