2012 Michel Bouzereau Meursault Genevrieres
Michel Bouzereau is a very reliable Meursault producer, I had so many of their wines, nothing really disappointed me. In addition, 2012 is a great white burgundy vintage, so expectations ran higher. Bouquet was relatively muted and with very slight smoke, perhaps required time to open up. Palette was broad and deep, easily encapsulating the whole tongue. I have the habit to leave my whites after drinking my reds, thus when I revisited my glass in 2 hours’ time, the bouquet has turned totally buttery, more like cold butter right out of the fridge, while the palette hardly moved, implying it’s a wine that can be kept for very long run.
