2012 Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque Brut
Made with a combination of 50% chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier, I was able to tell that it was a blend of grapes based upon the combination of nose and content. I’ll reveal my opinion shortly. Bouquet of delicate floral character, coupled with light blossom and very slight hint of lemon. Palette has a lot of warmth, very forward almost with a hint of honey, very decent acidity and coupled with very complex flavor. I was a bit confused over the Belle Epoque naming, and quickly googled to find out that it implies golden age or beautiful age, an interesting naming convention but generally confusing to us Asians unless you have studied French.
