2012 Ruffino Modus Toscana
THUMBS DOWN
Looks like I have got no luck with any Ruffino labels. This was an IGT label, with a composition of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Savignon.
The nose was almost Bordeaux like, for a moment I thought they have successfully cloned at least a Bordeaux style despite using a lot of Sangiovese grape type. But one sip and I drew my conclusion: extremely simple wine with absolutely no complexity at all. Does Ruffino produce any decent wines? Please enlighten me.
