2013 Albert Mann Alsace Grand Cru Hengst Pinot Gris
NOT PERSUADED
Albert Mann has not hit our Singapore shores yet, although I had the privilege to get a glimpse of it. After tasting the whole series of its Pinot Gris, I somehow concluded that either Pinot Gris wasn't his strength, or the vintage itself was weak.
Ripe banana, ripe honey and strong fragrance dominated the nose.
A really opulent wine, getting all sorts of tropical fruits like guava, banana stepped in. Definitely doesn't have the elegance and finesse of 2015, and I wasn't persuaded as GC.
