2014 Masi Campofiorin Rosso Veronese
BABY AMARONE
The winemaker called this their baby Amarone. They claimed that they used the same method to make Amarone. Basically a lot of air dried grapes, as much as 30%, went into the wine. The result was a very fruity nose. However the palate was surprisingly unexpected, as it was light and easy, totally mismatching the fruity nose character. I didn’t quite understand why the mismatch but that’s the job of the winemaker, not me :)
