2014 Te Mata Cape Crest Sauvignon Blanc
FRUIT BOWL
Unlike the more popular Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, this New Zealand SB from Hawke's Bay showed a lot more fruits than grassy notes.
It was like smelling into a fruit bowl filled with citrus and tropical fruits, such as grapefruit, lime, papaya, and even pineapple. It was still as fruity on the palate with citrus fruits dominating, and had a nice creamy mouth feel, not too dry and not too heavy. Very easy drinking and a wine to let someone who doesn't drink wine start with.
