2015 Faiveley Mercurey Les Mauvarennes
QUALITY VILLAGE WINE
Surprised to come across this bottle that surpassed my expectations. I’ve never been a big fan of Faiveley, more miss than hits. But this village level is very decent quality, and I attributed that to Mother Nature (blessed vintage).
Nose of almost unripe cherries, with moderate acidity. Palate was also quite similar, with mixed tastes; a bit uneven ripening of fruits, but overall very drinkable, especially with some food (I had beef this afternoon), great match.
