2016 Discovery Point Sauvignon Blanc
HYBRID PERCEPTION
Served blind, I had a whiff, and was too flowery, almost some kind of close encounter with a very fragrant summer flower, then lime surfaced with some butter on the nose. I was thinking it would be a Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay blend at this point (not many such blend).
A sip and the modern sweetness but with high and sharp acidity made me think it’s new world wine. But that’s as far as I can get, so I gave up. Was surprised it came from Kiwi, decent effort.
