2016 Esporao Reserva Branco Private Selection
PRIVATE SELECTION
I bumped into Esporao a couple of years ago when I was in Lisboa for lunch, and a sommelier highly recommend that I try their national treasure. Like Mouton Rothschild, they engaged an artist yearly to design a unique label for their bottles, so there’s an art to the wine.
I was told by the winemaker this was a private selection bottling, was 50% more expensive than the Riserva. I can tell it was quite special on the palate: more complexity, very fruity, more juicy. Wait another 5 yrs.
