2016 Viore Ribera Del Duero
Crianza
This wine is produced by Bodegas Riojanas from Ribera Del Duero, Spain. It uses Tempranillo grapes. To comply with Crianza status, this wine aged 9 months in American oak barrles, and then another 6 months in bottle. Bouquet is lightly flavored fresh grape and plum. Content is fresh and lively, very pleasant to drink, a grade better than those cheap and overpowering Australian supermarket wines. Surprisingly being just a Crianza and aged in the bottle for 7 years when I tasted it last night, I still find unresolved tannins and relatively heavy grip. It may benefit to be aged for a couple more years, no hurry to finish your bottles stashed away.
