Flight #1: Battle of the Premier Crus
2018 Leflaive Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Folatieres (7.8 pts) VS 2018 Jean Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Montmains (7.3 pts)
In the first flight, we embarked on a thrilling exploration of Premier Cru vineyards. The standout wine of this flight was the 2018 Leflaive Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Folatieres, scoring an impressive 7.8 points. Its subtle notes of citrus, honey, and white flowers danced on the palate, leaving a lasting impression. Jean Dauvissat didn't fair too far away too, trailing just 0.5 points away. Comparing with a $900 Leflaive vs a $99 Jean Dauvissat, the Jean Dauvissat Chablis is definitely a great wine for daily drinking plus it was ranked on Wine Enthusiast's 2021 TOP 100 wines.
Flight #2: Meursault vs. Puligny Montrachet

2018 Verget Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru 'Sous le Puits' (7.1 pts)
Flight #2 showcased two renowned appellations, Meursault and Puligny Montrachet. The 2018 Verget Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru 'Sous le Puits' was harmonious blend of minerality, ripe apple, and buttery notes demonstrated the unique terroir of Puligny Montrachet. However Henri Boillot Meursault was just too energetic with its ripe peaches and hazelnuts. Truly a classic Meursault wine!
Flight #3: Hidden Gems of Burgundy
2018 Gerard Thomas & Filles Saint Aubin Murgers des Dents de Chien (7.7 pts)
2018 Rapet Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru Sous Fretille (7.1 pts)
While Burgundy wines may be on the rise in terms of pricing, there are still some excellent options available that offer great value for your money. This flight introduced some hidden gems, including the 2018 Gerard Thomas & Filles Saint Aubin Murgers des Dents de Chien, which stole the show with an impressive score of 7.7 points. In the grand finale, we placed En Remilly Premier Cru and a Le Montrachet Grand Cru side by side. Looking at the vineyard locations, En Remilly is just situated beside Chevalier Montrachet and above Le Montrachet. One might think that this a very good vineyard plot placed beside two Grand Crus. 2018 Philippe Colin Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru En Remilly won the Le Montrachet Grand Cru by 0.1 pts. Both wines had its merits where En Remilly was showing its minerality and Le Montrachet was showing its weight. These wines epitomized opulence, complexity, and sheer brilliance.
