2019 Aegerter Beaune Premier Cru Les Belissand
After being hand-harvested, the grapes went through malolactic fermentation and further aged in oak barrels for roughly 12 months. We have been featuring Paul Aegerter wines for several vintages already, and Belissand is quite a highlight of their premier crus; aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry along with red cherry and redcurrant, it’s a good blend. Content is clearly very sweet, much more of a sweet red cherry, along with leather and spices. Finishing is dry, tannic and sour, implying this wine can age for a couple of years before reaching it’s optimal drinking window.
