2019 Christian Moreau Chablis Grand Cru
We have a flight of three bottles of the following in a blind tasting:
Joseph Drouhin Chassagne Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche 1er Cru 2018
Philippe Colin Chassagne Montrachet En Remilly 1er Cru 2017
Christian Moreau Chablis Le Clos Grand Cru 2019
Quite unfair to feature a Grand Cru in a line up of Premier Cru, but my friend insisted on having a joker around, plus the price is equivalent to the Premier Cru, so be it. Oak presence is significant on the bouquet. Content was a bit light, with acidity being more bite. It was my choice of the flight initially, but was overtaken by En Remilly over time as En Remilly has a more lively acidity and buttery taste, more balance and rounded finishing.
The winner in this flight is the Philippe Colin Chassgne Montrachet En Remilly 1er Cru 2017 by a far margin.
