Being branded alongside as Versace picked wine, the quality cannot be too far off. The wine was handpicked by Donatella Versace, the famous Italian designer, businesswoman, socialite and model. The label is a tribute to the strong personality of Sicilian terroir and wines. The past vintages have been in Wine Spectator’s top 100 list, thus it’s a must try. Being a 100% Nero d’Avola grape varietal, it’s characterised by intensity. Bouquet before decanting offered heavy graphite notes, however, it morphed into blackcurrants, dark cherries and blueberries thereafter. Content was beefy and chunky, with very full bodied and rich texture. This is more of a drinking wine rather than trying to age, thus, pop and pour, and enjoy every sip of it. We picked out this wine in a blind tasting of a range of Italian wines, and we at Fine Wines do enjoy the quality, thus we’d like to share the findings with everyone.
