2020 Philippe Colin Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru En Remilly
This is probably one of my favorite plots in Chassagne-Montrachet. Philippe Colin inherited 0.5 acre of En Remilly vineyard from his father in 2016, imagine the location of En Remilly lies just above Le Montrachet and bordering Chevalier Montrachet? Production is extremely miniscule as well, yearly production is probably around 900 bottles for a blessed weather, as such, you can imagine the rarity of these bottles. A whiff and I enjoyed the bouquet; ocean breeze, white peach, along with jasmine aroma showing a huge potential of complexity. A sip and I was impressed with the sophistication of the body; there’s so much going on in the content with various elements. Predominantly, it has huge amount of energy, a searing but non-interfering acidity, and plenty of flesh on the wine content. This wine will definitely improve in a decades’ time. Treasure the wine!
