Les Chaumees is situated at the edge of Chassagne-Montrachet, bordering the vineyards of Saint-Aubin, and directly above the 1er cru sites of Les Vergers and Les Chenevottes. Aged 12 months in French oak. Yearly production of only 4,200 bottles, to be distributed worldwide, thus you can imagine our very limited allocation. After tasting many vintages of Philippe Colin’s wines, I realized the winemaker does not make bold nor powerful wines, rather, all his wines were produced with very art craft, I have never tasted any overpowered wines from him before. The style is rather finesse and elegance, like this Les Chaumees, very pear taste driven with many shades of pear tastes, if you blind me, I swear it’s a pear juice with alcohol!
