Merlet XO NV Cognac
FOR A CHANGE
For a change I’m going to report a series of Cognac and Whiskeys. This Merlet Extra Old XO was the first I had a sip entering the tasting room, and it was not bad. Aged for about 6 to 18 years old, it has developed a fiery character, nose was choky, palate was fiery and heavily vanilla oak driven. Surprisingly the fiery notes went off after the first sip, turned out to be smooth, easy and round subsequently, not bad for a Cognac!
