NV Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Gold Brut

I heard a lot about this champagne, as well as the exorbitant price of it. Today I finally had a chance to taste it, but walked away totally disappointed as it was more of a brand name champagne instead of having solid substance.
I smelled rubber to start off with, quite a shock. Palate was very sharp and acidic, the champagne was made to precision, fruity and it does have its own unique style, taste and character. Unfortunately it didn't impress me enough to rate it higher. Poor QPR.
