One look at the bottle, I almost wanted to put the bottle back to my wine cellar, as it was wax sealed! It’s sometimes a hassle to open a wax seal bottle (but now I found an easy trick to do it), especially when I looked at the label, this was just a village wine! Was it overdone?! Or the winemaker was just a weirdo and too much pride? Out of curiosity, I still uncorked the bottle to check the content. A whiff and a sip, I was sold, thinking if I were the winemaker, I would have done the same! The quality can easily rival a premier cru, even a top premier cru! The bouquet contains a light gunpowder flint with a hint of sea breeze. Content was a breeze to enjoy, very clean and transparent, saline like a filtered sea water, with multi dimensional tastes and flavour, very enjoyable. One of the best village level wines I’ve ever come across! I would love to have this wine in a blind tasting test to verify my claim! Between the 2016 and 2017, I much prefer the 2017, it has a lot more minerality than 2016, and acidity seemed to be sharper too.
