Paul Pillot St Aubin 1er Cru Pitangerets 2015 and 2016
I have previously reported the comparison of 2016 and 2017 (Paul Pillot, St Aubin 1er Cru Pitangerets 2016 & 2017 CLICK HERE!), and I do enjoy this winemaker and this vineyard, that’s why when I found a bottle of 2015 and 2016 sitting around, I can’t wait to do another round of comparison again. Actually I also liked 2015 vintage a lot (for overall white burgundy), however, I find that maybe it’s not a great Chassagne Montrachet vintage, as I realized the fruit of this 2015 Pitangerets was fatter and more flabby than the 2016, although the acidity for both vintages were comparatively equal. I much prefer the 2016 stoutness and compactness, as it’s tighter and sturdier than the 2015 vintage.
