Truchots 1985 Rayas 1971 and Gentaz 1985
UNICORN REDS
The red counterparts for tonight's dinner will be three unicorn red wines. Jacky Truchot's Clos Sorbes 85, Ch Rayas 71 and Gentaz Cote Rotie 85.
Clos Sorbes was only a 1er cru, but status wise, it commands the equivalent of Henri Jayer's Cros Parantoux.
Rayas needed no introduction, it was the legendary Rhone label, not to mention aged Rayas has virtually disappeared from earth, extinct. Gentaz, you'll need to do some homework, it's the predecessor of Rene Rostaing, totally unicorn label.
