3) 1989 Mouton Rothschild - First Growth
Very well defined, very “old school”. The palate is medium-bodied and very harmonious with grainy tannins. It continues the aromatic theme of cedar and tobacco, with a slightly leafy finish that demonstrates great persistency. It is very “classic” in style, restrained, elegant and bearing similarities to Lafite Rothschild! 
Even Jancis Robinson agrees and rated this a high 19.5/20 points

4) 1989 Pichon Lalande - A Timeless Pauillac Masterpiece
The more powerful and flamboyant side of the 1989 comes through rather dramatically. Recently we opened this wine and it immediately impressed with its steady and alluring bouquet, showcasing aromas of ripe blueberries, blackcurrants, and a touch of cigar. On the palate, it revealed a full-bodied character with a lively, chunky texture that kept evolving with every sip. After 2 hours of decanting, the wine blossomed beautifully, holding up strongly over the course of 4 hours—a true testament to its structure and longevity.
