The 1985 Château La Lagune is a wine from the Haut-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux, specifically from a Third Growth (Troisième Cru) estate in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Known for producing wines with good aging potential, Château La Lagune is renowned for its elegance, balance, and finesse, often with a slightly lighter and more approachable style compared to other classified estates in Bordeaux. The 1985 vintage is considered a good year, with wines that have aged well and offer complexity and mature characteristics.
BORDEAUX 85 TASTING 1
We held a tasting of Bordeaux 85 today with a blend of left and right bank: Mouton Rothschild, Leoville Las Cases, Gruaud Larose, Ducru Beaucaillou, La Lagune, Canon La Gaffeliere, Figeac and Certan de May.La Lagune came in 3rd with consensus vote, and was the best QPR wines. I enjoyed it very much, confusing it as a right bank Figeac as nose was left bank but also perhaps Cabernet Franc. Palate was rich, mellow and pleasant with totally melted tannins. Really superb quality. (4/2017)
Wine By Bok - 9.25/10 stars
This was very impressive 85, I liked it that it has matured tannins that doesn't irritate me, abundant fruits in the foreground, while the wine itself is pleasant with loads of good fruits which is a typical of good Bordeaux 85.
The wine showcased its best qualities the 45 minutes, offering a delightful experience at its peak. While the finish was lighter and slightly diluted over time, this is a testament to the wine being at its prime, ready to be enjoyed now for its full expression.
