Wine by Bok - 10/10 stars
This wine delivers unparalleled complexity and depth, embodying everything that makes Right Bank Bordeaux exceptional.
The nose opens with an exotic blend of dark berries, dried herbs, and a touch of aged spice, evolving into subtle notes of cedar, truffle, and Asian medicinal herbs, adding layers of intrigue. On the palate, it is silky, opulent, and beautifully structured, with a rich concentration of ripe black cherries, blackcurrants, and plums, all wrapped in seamlessly integrated tannins. The finish? Endless. Elegant. Profound. (01/2022)

It is difficult to split straws between this and the 2000 - perhaps this just has the upper hand because of its breeding and complexity. A sumptuous blackberry and cassis palate tinged with espresso towards the finish. Superb length - even longer than the 2000. A wine just getting into its stride but it is still in the ascent. What a wine. Classic-style Pomerol. Lots of violets and berries on the nose and palate. Broad shouldered in structure, with ripe tannins and a finish that goes on for minutes. It starts off slowly as you taste it and then vroom. Super finish. Best after 2012. (4/2007)
