Stephen Tanzer - 98 Points
Liqueur-like aromas of mirabelle and vanilla. Huge and powerful, verging on exotic; all minerals and iodine. Like a mouthful of liquid stone. Could hardly be more different in style from the Chevalier-Montrachet. A bit phenolic on the back end, but then this has a texture more like a red wine than a white. A trace of malic acidity currently blocks the wine's length. But this should be great. (9/2003)
Allen Meadows Burghound - 96 Points
Remarkably powerful and fresh white flower notes and hints of wet stones introduce strikingly well delineated, very ripe orchard fruit aromas framed by noticeably toasty oak leads to full-blown, robust, intensely chewy flavors yet there is lovely detail and such a firm acid spine that it more than manages to rein in the incredible size and weight of the finish. This is a vibrant effort that possesses a notable long finish that is almost painfully intense. (7/2004)
