Alluring aromas of wild berry, crushed blue flower, dried herb and exotic spice lead the way. The elegant linear palate doles out juicy black cherry, raspberry preserve, licorice and a hint of tobacco. It's well balanced, with taut fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. (5/2018)

Despite the cooler, rainier conditions, owner Laura Brunelli found her 2013 more structured and complex than 2012. As such, unlike some of her colleagues, she will also be releasing a 2013 Riserva. This hasn't compromised the quality of her regular bottling, which is an ethereal, elegant expression. Along with pure red cherry, nuances of orange, dried roses and thyme are held together by subtly firm tannins. Mineral and liquorice notes glide across the finish. (2/2018)
