Wine With Bok - 9/10 Stars
After being hand-harvested, the grapes went through malolactic fermentation and further aged in oak barrels for roughly 12 months. We have been featuring Paul Aegerter wines for several vintages already, and Belissand is quite a highlight of their premier crus; aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry along with red cherry and redcurrant, it’s a good blend. Content is clearly very sweet, much more of a sweet red cherry, along with leather and spices. Finishing is dry, tannic and sour, implying this wine can age for a couple of years before reaching it’s optimal drinking window. (2/2022)
Wine Enthusiast - 93 Points
Aromas of crisp blackberry and raspberry introduce this vibrant Pinot Noir sourced from a single vineyard at the foot of the slope of Beaune. Vinified in stainless steel and matured in oak (30% new barrels), it offers piercing and zesty wild-berry flavors anchored by a richer, velvety backdrop of cassis and plum. Edged by graphite and fine, silky tannins, it's approachable young but should improve and meld through 2035 and hold further still.(1/2021)
