Aux Charmes is a Premier Cru bordering Gevrey-Chambertin, products from here may not be top notch Morey St Denis although often times one can get lush and elegant products. Pierre Amiot has been producing wines for many years from this plot, they do have extensive knowledge to produce quality Aux Charmes. Bouquet of rather earthy elements along with red cherries and plums. Content didn’t quite reflect what the bouquet is revealing. Surprisingly thick viscosity with strawberries with slight sourish notes, and raspberry with the fatness of the body. I observed a really addictive fruity character after leaving the content in the glass for 30 mins, I normally control my wine intake to a glass for casual dinner, but tonight the wine is just too alluring that I drank 2/3 of the bottle unconsciously. The wine has a tinge of unresolved sandy tannins, implying that it’s not at the right drinking window yet. I recommend decanting it for 1 hour to really enjoy the fascinating juicy fruits can bring for your pleasure. (7/2022)
