Twenty years ago, Ata Rangi introduced a special Pinot Noir named “Crimson” in support of Project Crimson—a charitable trust dedicated to the restoration and preservation of New Zealand’s iconic red-flowering pōhutukawa and rātā trees.
Crafted with purpose and care, the Crimson Pinot Noir is a tribute to both nature and the winery's heritage. The bouquet is beautifully perfumed, offering notes of rose petal, grilled raspberry, and wild strawberry, intertwined with savoury hints of star anise, meat marrow, and fresh garden herbs like thyme and rosemary.
On the palate, it is graceful and complete—silky in texture yet layered in complexity. Delicate red fruits shine alongside subtle spices of black cardamom and cinnamon, with warm cedar notes adding depth.
