2022 Chateau Closiot Bordeaux Blanc - 750ml
6 Bottles @ $43
Wine With Bok - 9/10 stars
A couple of years ago, our favourite winemaker Jean-Marie Guffens Heynen, who owns the famed burgundy label Verget, bought over Chateau Closiot which is located in Barsac, Bordeaux. Along with the purchase, Guffens Heynen also brought along his deep knowledge of burgundy winemaking skills, and I am able to tell the difference between the wines made by previous owner compared to Guffens Heynen’s technique. The wine is composed of 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc, bouquet is of very fruity aromas of ripe fruit of dried apricot and honey. The content is of definitive Bordeaux style of powerful fruits with styles being elegant and a touch of finesse, the elegance is probably a style infused by Guffens Heynen winemaking style. (2/2024)
