2023 Domaine Amiot Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Combottes - 750ml
The vines enjoy excellent exposure to the morning sun, facing east to south-east, which consistently encourages full ripeness and very ripe grapes. Located around 260 meters elevation, the vineyards rest on limestone soils formed through the decomposition of gravelly hillside colluvium, giving a naturally concentrated profile. The lieu-dit Les Combottes lies at the boundary between Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis, surrounded by prestigious grand crus—Latricières-Chambertin, Mazoyères-Chambertin, and Clos de la Roche—one of the most distinguished settings of the Côte de Nuits. This parcel is among the oldest holdings of the domaine, preserved through massal selection to maintain genetic diversity and vine character. All practices from viticulture to vinification are carefully adapted to each vintage to reveal the typicity of the terroir. Ageing takes place in oak barrels with one third new oak, enhancing complexity while respecting origin. The wine offers a nose marked by expressive red-fruit aromas. The palate shows exceptional length, generous body, silky, finely textured tannins, and a harmonious structure.
