The vines face east to south-east at around 260 meters elevation on limestone soils rich in rocks, marls, red silts, and gravel. The lieu-dit Les Ruchots lies to the south of Morey-Saint-Denis, at the boundary with Chambolle-Musigny, just beneath the grand crus Clos de Tart and Bonnes Mares. The parcel is naturally sheltered from cold winds and enjoys a favourable micro-climate that promotes good ripeness. The vines tend to produce numerous small berries, enhancing natural concentration. From vineyard work to vinification, all decisions are adapted to each vintage to reveal the complexity and typicity of this terroir. The domaine is conducting experiments with grassing-over in Les Ruchots, and some vines have been scientifically selected to preserve Pinot genetic heritage. Ageing takes place in oak barrels for 16–18 months, including one third new oak, to build depth while respecting origin. The wine develops a nose of red fruits with lightly jammy nuances. The palate is balanced, concentrated, round, and silky, leading to a long, pleasant finish.
