Chateau Margaux
Château Margaux's renown stems largely from its extraordinary terroir, spanning 80 hectares or approximately 200 acres. This terrain features gravel mounds and gravelly marl soils, benefiting from superior drainage facilitated by both natural elements such as the Lestonnat stream and man-made interventions. During the meticulous selection process, the finest vats are earmarked for Château Margaux's flagship wine, while the remaining ones contribute to the creation of Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, a tradition dating back to 1908. The primary wine undergoes aging in 100% new oak barrels, a practice synonymous with Bordeaux's premier growths. This aging process typically lasts two years.
