Mouton Rothschild
Château Mouton Rothschild is located in the northern part of the Pauillac appellation, in the Médoc region. The estate reigns over a 90-hectare vineyard and enjoys an exceptional terroir, located between the Gironde estuary to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. An iconic reference among fine Pauillac wines, the name of this estate is synonymous with power and prestige and produces fine Left-Bank wines. Château Mouton Rothschild is the youngest of the Five First Classified Growths of Bordeaux. The tale of Château Mouton Rothschild is one of a miraculous convergence of soil, climatic conditions, and a man's passion: Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Led by two exceptional individuals, Baron Philippe de Rothschild (1902–1988) and his daughter, the Baroness Philippine (1933–2014), Château Mouton Rothschild is also a place of art and beauty thanks to its spectacular Grand Chai with a mesmerizing perspective, its renowned Museum of Wine in Art, which brings together two millennia of priceless objects connected to the vineyard and the wine, and also thanks to its new and magnificent Cuvier, inaugurated in 2013. The three children of the Philippine Baroness now own Château Mouton Rothschild: Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild, Vice-President; Camille Sereys de Rothschild, Head of the Supervisory Board of the family business; Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, in charge of the Château administration. The three of them are dedicated to carrying on the legendary Premier Cru's slogan, "Mouton does not change," faithfully carrying on the job of their grandfather and mother. The estate also produces a second wine : Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild
