Serge Laloue
Domaine Serge Laloue is a distinguished family-owned estate rooted in the historic village of Thauvenay, at the heart of Sancerre in the Loire Valley. The estate’s viticultural journey began in the 1960s when Serge Laloue committed his life to wine, expanding his family’s holdings to cultivate 20 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir on the region’s iconic slopes. Today, his children Christine and Franck continue this legacy, with the next generation already joining after formal training in viticulture and oenology. Domaine Serge Laloue’s vineyards span a rich mosaic of terroirs — from the mineral-rich flint (“silex”) soils to limestone and clay that define Sancerre’s character. These soils impart vibrant aromatics, racy acidity, and a crystalline mineral backbone that express the unique identity of each parcel. The estate has long embraced environmentally responsible viticulture, nurturing vine balance through thoughtful soil management and cover crops, and is progressing toward organic certification. This deep respect for land and tradition, combined with meticulous vineyard work, ensures Domaine Serge Laloue wines speak authentically of terroir, heritage, and enduring quality.
